What's the site all about?

It is ideally many things. It should be a reflection of my personal passion for the beauty and art of magic. It's a 'magical portal' to the Strange Stuff encountered along the way. It was a creative outlet to feed the ego in some unknown but perverse way. It's a way to say 'Hey, check this out'. It was about spending a TON of effort on something of interest ... and hoping others might see it this way as well. It was about applying my focus to a labor of love.

Why did you do a magic site?
|

|
It's what you could call a hobby ... or a passion ... and at times it's been an obsession. It's surely been a journey of discovery to travel this magic path w/ all it's interesting twists and turns. After finding many strange things along the way I decided it might be an interesting experiment to take my current focus and try to reflect it into an online form. What you see is the result.

What are you selling?

I looked long and hard for something that I thought someone else would want to buy but couldn't really find anything. I've got a lot of strange opinions that I'm trying to convince everyone else to accept ... so maybe I can use the site for that. I could put a google ad between each paragraph and make like that's not a complete abomination ... but I'm an idealist ... and for now you'll have to go somewhere else for your google ad fix.

How long will it be before you sell out?

This will be directly proportional to the total amount offered ... meaning the bigger the payoff the sooner you'll be chasing that monkey in that annoying flashing banner ad at the top of every page.

Are you any good?
|
|
|
I don't think so. I'm a technical type guy ... master the sleight and never feel like I can use it. Terrible anxiety in anticipation of performing anything for anyone. Always working to get past perfomance barrier to allow for appropriate 'sharing' of all that is magical.

Who built/designed the site?
|
|
|
The site evolved over a few years time. It was initially only a simple idea ... it then became a registered domain name ... and then a rough facsimile of a web site w/ a fake home page. I was hot & cold on it for the whole time and it was only recently that it got the focus it needed to become a reality. I'm afraid to count the hours spent but I'd say it's conservatively between 500 and 1000 man hours. I have some experience building web based systems (the technical side) and I used the advice of more than a few experienced professionals on the issues of design.

Why are you into magic?

I'm not really sure ... it's origins are rooted in a childhood experience w/ close-up effects (ie. ring on string) ... bug in the head ... totally obsessed ... now it's just out of my control ... maybe it's a divine thing ... or is that blasphemous?

So what's with all the ...'s everywhere?

That's called an ellipsis and is meant to be used to indicate a non-contiguous break in the statement. For me ... I call it a 'style' of writing that I've acquired from posting online for years. Think of it as a pause ... where you just take a short breath ... and then continue on. I'm working on my own grammar book ... and I have plans to redefine everything!
