   Where's the Cardboard?
img
Are you lookinng to the left? That's not the cardboard ... but it visually represents the layered or laminated way in which it's made. Your thinking big deal right ... you got a whole page on your site about cardboard? Yup ... a whole page ... and I stopped after a while because it was just too much. Keep reading though ... it's only a minute or so of your time.

It's really all around you. It holds all the items you buy in the store while their in transit to their destination. If you buy enough of the items they'll give you the box and the destination will be your home. It serves as a universal material for all kinds of uses like drop clothes, taboggening, break dancing pad, and for those much less fortunate than most, it can double as a house. Now what other material can you name that is as universal as this thing we call cardboard.

Below are some pretty amazing and unbelievable things that people are doing w/ cardboard. In addition, there's a strange connection to this word (or the idea of what the material is) w/ lots of people using the word 'cardboard' in their domain and site names (sports sites, artists, blogs, record companies, and even me)

Here's a site that has a large collection of celebrity cardboard cutouts/standups. They claim to the the largest distributor in the world. I had no idea this was a worldwide phenomenon.
Cardboard Kids (like cardboard cops)
This is a special implementation of the cardboard cutout idea. Why not do one of a small child and place it near the street in front of your house ... to slow those down that drive down your street a bit too fast.
Strange Cardboard Constructions

Here's another site that covers the details of how to turn a plain cardboard box into a castle. This one is meant for children but should involve an adult since it requires some cutting of the cardboard. It has some other links as well for other craft related projects for children.
A Real Bridge Made Of Cardboard
Belive it or not ... this site outlines a bridge that spans a realy body of water ... and it's made of none other than cardboard. Looks like there may be some other materials used to hold it all toghether ... but it's a real functioning bridge that can carry the weight of a person ... and I'm not talking about a cardboard cutout of a person.
SLR Lens Hood (reallY)
What's that ... twenty dollars is too much to spend for a lens hood for your $1000 digital slr? No need to worry ... this site will outline in detail plans for making your own. It even has the plans categorized by brand of camera.
Upright Bass made of Cardboard (YouTube video)
Yes ... you read that right ... a bass guitar made out of cardboard. Navigate over here to see it being played by it's creator. You can buy this now as a kit from the guy you see on the video here.   I'd suspect that there's someone out there who's taken this idea even further and made a drum kit from cardboard.
Cardboard Helicopter

Caskets made of Cardboard
Yes ... you read that right ... Caskets made of cardboard. So I know what you're thinking ... who would use a cardboard casket ... and why? I doubt the person in the casket really cares at that point ... it's really going to be about everyone else ... and how they feel about their loved ones being layed to rest in a cardboard box. There are actually some reasonable situations where this makes sense. You'll have to visit the site to figure out what these may be.

Cardboard Meat in China (cardboard as food)
Those wild and crazy chinese are at it again. First it's paper and gunpower ... not it's cardboard food. Meat buns made of cardboard ... and the expectation is that they're made of meat ... except they're not ... at least 60% of them aren't .... they're made with cardboard.
